King Street Presents: More Than a Cut at Good Day Barbers on Friday 10th October. It’s a full day dedicated to men’s mental health.
In partnership with Two Pints Deep, a character for men’s mental health, we’re creating casual space for real conversations, connection, and community. Whether you’re coming in for a quick trim, a fresh new look, or taking the opportunity to explore your mental health, More Than a Cut is about taking a moment to check in — with yourself, your mates, and the people around you.
What is ‘More Than a Cut?’
It’s not therapy. It’s a space to talk, if you want to. Sometimes the best conversations happen in the barber’s chair or while waiting for your cut. This day is about making those everyday check-ins feel even more meaningful.
The door is open to anyone who wants to pop in. There’s no pressure to talk about anything deep or personal. But if you do want to talk, or listen, this is an ideal place to start those conversations.
Who’s involved
The full Good Day Barbers team will be here all day, and will be joined by friends, regulars, and local supporters. People will be dropping in throughout the day to show support, and share their stories.
Why we’re doing it
We know how important it is for men to talk. Barbershops are often one of the few places where it feels easy and comfortable to open up.
More Than a Cut creates a place where you can talk, laugh, listen – all in a comfortable and low-pressure environment. Sometimes that starts with a simple chat and a fresh haircut.
The vibe
We don’t want you to feel heavy, we want you to feel heard and to hear that you’re not alone. Fresh fades, fresh perspectives, and small moments that can make a big difference.
Our partner charity Two Pints Deep centres their work around removing the negative stigma around men’s mental health, and ensuring support is accessible and approachable.
Giving back, dropping in
Haircuts on the day will be the same price as usual. There will also be an optional donation point in-store for Two Pints Deep if you would like to give them some support.
